I was born in Salisbury Wiltshire but moved to the out skirts of Southampton at 10 years old where I attended Mountbatten School in Romsey. When I left school I went to work as an apprentice engineer and attended college on day release where I achieved a HND in mechanical engineering. I have since had many jobs in the aerospace industry become a team leader some 14 years ago, I am presently a team leader for H&S aviation in Portsmouth looking after the machine shop. I became a school governor to help repay the school for the excellent start to education that it has given my 3 sons as I believe that every child has a right to a good education so they can achieve whatever they aspire to. When I am not at work my interests are classic motorcycles and computers but most of my time is spent as mini soccer coordinator for Stubbington Youth FC.
I grew up in Portsmouth and moved to Fareham in 2002.
I trained as a Junior school teacher at Worcester College of Higher Education and spent twelve years
teaching at schools in Gosport and Sarisbury. I then decided on a career change and set up my own
business making and selling costume jewellery. Now I enjoy being a stay at home mum to my two
I first became a Parent governor when my eldest son was in year 2 and then was elected as Chair of
Governors in September 2018. Ranvilles Infants gave my eldest a great start to his education and
encouraged a willingness to learn and explore. I am passionate about the creative curriculum which
is taught throughout the school as I can see the enthusiasm all children have for their learning.
Having been both a parent and teacher, I hope that I can give something back to the school through
my role as a Governor.
In my spare time I enjoy watching rugby, baking cakes and knitting.
I have lived in Gosport and Fareham all my life where I live with my husband and two sons.
My oldest son is currently in year one and my youngest son will start school in two years time. My eldest son loves attending Ranvilles and has grown in confidence based on the school values and nurturing staff.
I work part time as an accountant which I have worked for the same employer since leaving college.
I am interested in helping my sons to have the best start to their school education which I believe is very important in life, however I am unable to assist in school hours.
I applied for the parent governor position to utilise the skills I have to assist and support in a governor role to give something back.
In my spare time I love spending time with my family having fun, whether it be at the park, playing games and especially family day trips to the theme parks or the zoo which are our family favourites.
I was born in Exeter but grew up in Southampton. As a military family we have moved around a fair bit, but I returned to Fareham in 2015 where my family is now settled. Before deciding to stay at home to raise my children I worked for the NHS Blood Donor center as their administrator. I have 4 children, my eldest is currently in year 1. In my spare time I volunteer for RNRMW and help run a coffee morning and playgroup for our local community.
I am very happy to have the opportunity to be parent governor at Ranvilles Infant School, it’s exciting to think I can help school to continue in its outstanding direction.
